Tier 5 or 99'ers Deserve Unemployment Benefits, Too

Tier 5 or 99'ers deserve unemployment benefits, too. I have thought many times on how we could aid these jobless Americans who have been unfortunate enough to be without positions for 2 years or more. It does seem unlikely to some that 2 years without landing a job is far fetched. But as an unemployed, educated worker for nearly 12 months now-I can attest the horrible concept of trying to find a job these days. It would not surprise me if I didn't find a full time job in the next year--although I may die trying. I have been close but no cigar on many jobs(I am in the communications field by the way and a freelance/writer blogger). But the bottom line is these Tier 5 or 99'ers are doing without in this horrible job climate. There are many many Tier 5 or 99'ers who have tried to honestly find work.
For these people-this is what I would suggest. The government needs to come up with a plan that would discontinue unemployment for a certain time period after they have exhausted 99 weeks. Then, after that certain window(let's just say 1 month) has ended and the individual has provided details and proof of their specific job searches, they could start the unemployment phase over for some extent. I think this would provide relief for those Tier 5 or 99'ers until the economy finally turns around and the job climate has changed.
My other thoughts on this Tier 5 or 99'er situation would be to implement a jobs plan that directly affects them. Obviously they are the one having the toughest time finding a position-create jobs specifically for them. Perhaps these are the people who should have been hand delivered the U.S. Census type positions. Maybe there is another government type project that would allow these people to be gainfully employed. If the government refuses to give away money, let the Tier 5 or 99'ers work for it in some capacity if they are able. Then if the short term job is over they can resume unemployment benefits. I think the Tier 5 or 99'ers should be aided in some way. It very sad that so many people are in a horrible situation without income and there are not as many jobs as there are jobless workers.
The numbers are startling and I pray the Tier 5 or 99'ers can find employment through some means or keep receiving unemployment benefits if not.
Tier 5 unemployment benefits probably won't happen this time around in the Senate bill being proposed. The Senate is saying those people are just plain out of luck. Politicians have to draw a line somewhere and it's unfortunate that many of those people who have exhausted 99 weeks will be without income. I hope those people can find employment through a future government project or still receive unemployment benefits through a new provision on down the line.
Until the economy improves--there are many many people who fall under the category of Tier 5 or 99'ers.
My heart goes out to those people-with the same regard to all of those other unfortunate people who lost jobs through no fault of their own who are less than 99 weeks and now not receiving benefits.
