Freelance Writing and Blogging Professional

The best way to advertise that you are looking for work might be on your own blog. I am a freelance writing and blogging professional that is looking for work. My normal rate is anywhere from $5 to $10 per post depending on the length of words and the amount of research that is involved. I think one of the good things about being a freelance writer is that I get to look at a wide array of issues and topics. I enjoy freelance writing on topics such as reality television, sports, employment and job seeking, entertainment, movies, relationships and various other items.
Where do you write freelance if you want to make money? I enjoy writing for sites like Associated Content, Text Broker and right here on Blogger. How do you make money from freelance writing? I have found so far, through trial and error, that Associated Content has provided me the best outlet to write and make money. I have over 1 million page views now from stories I have written in the past year. I hope to be in the 10 million range in the next year or two as I continue to write freelance for money.
My content is keyword driven and meant to drive traffic to a website. How do I do this? I use several approaches to writing content. My first feeling is usually what I feel in my gut. How would I search for this topic if I used a search engine? My next step, which is more systematic, is to use Google Ad Words to find what people are searching for. This usually reinforces what I originally thought or adds to it.
Writing freelance for money certainly won't get you rich--but you can make a living if you do it right. I have been a freelance blogger/writer for hire for around 1 year now. My income has been modest so far and doesn't compare to what I was making full time writing. As I continue to write freelance though for Associated Content and Text Broker, opportunities continue to come up. I have a partnership with one guy who owns multiple websites and I continue to draw good assignments from him on a relatively normal basis. Those freelance writing articles typically pay 10 dollars for a content driven story or 6 bucks apiece for a short blog. This money, while it isn't constant, can add up to someone who is staying at home and typing from the relative comfort of their own home. But my work isn't done. I am looking for freelance writing jobs as we speak--and will continue to always be on the lookout for good opportunities to showcase my talent. My dream job would be writing an entertainment or sports column on a consistent basis. I take that back-my dream job would be creating my own blog that makes so much money it makes my head spin like a rollercoaster. Well maybe that's a bit drastic--but it'll do.
