Stephen Strasburg and Sports Memorabilia News

Where do you get your sports memorabilia news from? Many fans of sports who are more than into sports search the web for sports memorabilia news on a daily basis. Searches range from finding a particular baseball card to landing an augtographed Mickey Mantle signed baseball. There are a few sites concerning sports memorabilia news that deliver news on a daily basis. One of those is Sports Collector's Daily.

One of my hobbies just happens to be keeping up with the sports memorabilia industry. As a huge fan of most sports--and an avid baseball card collector in my youth-I always wanted to know about the speculation concerning young players. Who will be the next Babe Ruth--if that is even possible? Who will be the next Michael Jordan even? Those are questions I was always consumed with and in my spare time I still wonder if Albert Pujols or LeBron James can even live up to those legends.

The other day I tuned in to Sports Collectors daily to check in one of those up and coming players and how he is doing in sports memorabilia industry. There is a young baseball phenom that plays for the Washington Nationals. In fact, Stephen Strasburg just picked up his first pro loss last night--although he gave up just 1 run and his team offered no support. Despite the loss, the race for Stephen Strasburg sports memorabilia and Stephen Strasburg rookie cards is already on. It's a fast paced energy driven contest fueled by the possibility this kid could be the greatest ever.

People like me who once or still invest in baseball cards have to know the significance of an entrance of such a baseball phenom. The guys who rise that quickly to the majors are few and far between.
That means the hype surrounding those guys is usually never matched by-let's say some pro athlete who makes it to the bigs at age 27. Stephen Strasburg is supposed to be the next big thing. He has done little to change that fact in the eyes of many sports card collectors with his incredibly strong debut so far in Major League Baseball.

Anyway, my point is I check Sports Collectors Daily to see the potential for many of these kids. Boom! On the front page was this article about a Stephen Strasburg Topps Special Rookie Card. It's good to get information quick on such happenings--with a young son at home I don't nearly have the time to research like I used to. Although I will be the first to admit when I was the age of Stephen Strasburg we didn't have the internet to do research. We just heard about potential phenoms word of mouth, through magazines and newspaper stories. That was the hype a Stephen Strasburg Topps Special Rookie Card would get. So how much will the Stephen Strasburg rookie card be worth? The urge is to buy now before he self destructs at some point and looks mortal. Right now the guy would probably land in the hall of fame if he were to blow out his shoulder because of the dominance he has illustrated on the mound.

How good is Stephen Strasburg? Major League baseball analysts can't seem to say enough good things about the rookie phenom whose ride to the majors happened so quickly. The former number 1 overall pick by the Washington Nationals has been so dominant that there is speculation his rookie cards and sports memorabilia could rise as quick as some of the greatest baseball players we've seen in the past 3 decades.
There may not even be anyone to compare him to in terms of that. The speculation and buzz is just out of control already-although Strasburg has done little to detract from what everyone keeps saying about him.
Hall of Famer? The jury is still out. Will Stephen Strasburg ever look like a normal pitcher? It doesn't seem likely that his dominance will just vaporize in the next year or two. It may be a while before baseball catches up. That means the speculation and buzz surrounding a Stephen Strasburg rookie card and sports memorabilia will stun the sports collecting world.

Back to my original point-finding info on a guy like Stephen Strasburg-whether it is about his new Topps Special Rookie Card or other sports memorabilia(from signed balls to jerseys)--I have to tune in somewhere. I know that this site offers many in the sports collectors world a chance to quickly catch up on the latest industry news.
