My name is Chris Houston. And I love reality television. So much so that I am taking it one more small step for mankind. I may be a guy but I still enjoy shows like The Bachelorette. I was on the edge of my seat as Ed and Jillian made it official last night. Poor Reid and Kiptyn. Both heartbroken over their loss of The Bachelorette. It wasn't easy for Jillian Harris to make her final decision. Too bad she had to break a couple of hearts to finally land Ed on The Bachelorette Finale.
I've had many people tell me they wanted Reid to be the guy. There were an equal amount of people supporting Kiptyn and I think he may just be the next Bachelor for ABC. Although there is a strong push to have airline pilot Jake get the nod for The Bachelor. Whoever it is, they'll have a hard time following up the act of Jason Mesnick. Mesnick, oh yeah, the guy who dumped his final rose pick to be with the runnerup Molly Malaney on The Bachelor.
I've been watching Big Brother 11 quite a bit. Ronnie is screwed. He's made too many enemies to stick around much longer. He tried to split and conquer early and that's never a good sign. Especially when other people are ratting you out. Jordan's southern accent is a cute one, but her number could be up very soon. Even though she is one of the more likeable houseguests on the show. Big Brother 11 is very interesting but I can't imagine anyone could top Dan on Big Brother 10 last season. Ronnie is working at being devious but his tail end is on the line now.
Has anyone watched this Dating in the Dark show on ABC? Talk about crazy? Let's really see how superficial people can be? It's a true test of if you like a personality or if you are more interested in looks. Maybe you need the looks first even if you were making out with a person on Dating in the Dark. I am not even sure what the official name is. That show where people make out in the dark. Talk about scary if you are the superficial type. For all you know you could be kissing a person of the same sex. Which wouldn't be bad for a gay or lesbian episode but these are singles looking for the opposite sex remember. The show opens all kinds of possibilities for future debacles in the lovely world of dating. Especially in the dark. Yuck. Who thought of this idea and why am I so intrigued by it. I guess I just want to see if human nature really is that binded in proximity to what someone looks like.
Next subject...Reality television in the fall should be fun. American Idol won't be around for a while. But we'll get our share of goofy reality TV we can't make fun of soon enough. That is, if you don't want to make fun of America's got talent. I know I do and I can't help but feel that some of the performances are staged. Yes, staged. Some people are just so bad that you know it can't be humanly possible to go on a show thinking you would actually win.
I miss Jerry Springer and that's the only time you'll ever hear me say that. Or type that. For now, that's my reality check. Blog out.
